a series full of wonder.
In addition to a new cover, images, and interior layout, Dance on the Sun received one other important detail on the front cover and in the last pages of the book: the announcement of its series, Tales of Angaride.
And where there’s a ‘book one’, a book two will certainly follow.
From the very beginning of DOTS’s inception, I knew I didn’t want it to be the only story set in this fantasy world on the vast continent of Angaride. There were other characters, other storylines, other romances I wanted to craft. I had several ideas for sequels and follow ups to DOTS, but what I really found was that there was no way to do all of them justice without creating a series, where each book is dedicated to a particular couple. In the coming installments, we’ll get to explore different regions of the continents, learn new customs and languages, and meet colorful characters who are as unique as their homelands.
While a direct story following the events of DOTS is still circling in my mind, it will be on the backburner for a while and may not be a full length novel as I am diverting all my creative energy towards the next mainline installment in the series, titled Before the Lotus Blooms. There is so much to love about this new book, and I can’t wait to share more about it in the coming months. I am still in the process of drafting, so I don’t have a clear idea just yet of when this novel will be published, but I am hopeful for a 2025 release.
Tales of Angaride will be a lengthy series, as there is plenty of inspiration to draw from. I already have two more novels slated behind Before the Lotus Blooms with tentative titles and themes, and a fifth that’s more of a vague idea at the moment. As things develop, the order of projects may change, but the core tenets will remain. I want this series to be fantastical, romantic, and fulfilling; happily-ever-afters that can satisfy my own craving for fairytales suited to adults.
As I draw closer to finishing the draft for Before the Lotus Blooms, there will be more info I can share about the story and about the nation of Satesaru, where the novel will be set. The Tales of Angaride page on my website also features continent maps, illustrations, and extra content that doesn’t necessarily fit into the books, so keep an eye out for those additional goodies!
I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped me get to this point, and excited for the future relationships I’ll forge through this series.
Stay tuned!
